San Diego Auto Repair Reaches out to Community with Free Car Care Fair
It’s an idea that has long appealed to the San Diego Auto Repair Care Group in San Diego, Calif. A community service project where fellow NAPA AutoCare Business Development Group members could use their talents and skills to help out area residents and raise awareness about the importance of proper vehicle maintenance. On October 25, 2015 eighteen members of San Diego Auto Repair host their first-ever Car Care Fair at Qualcomm Stadium, home of the San Diego Chargers.
The October 25 Car Care Fair generated plenty of publicity and positive press in San Diego. Popular radio stations like KSON & KGB hosted live remote broadcasts from the event while one of the city’s highly-rated morning TV shows KUSI promoted Free Car Care Fair in their “Things to Do This Weekend” programming. Local auto clubs participated in a free car show during the event featuring hot rods, trucks, low riders, classic, import and specialty vehicles at the event.
In addition to the live remote radio broadcasts and car show, the Car Care Fair included family entertainment including a local food truck, balloon & face painting modeling booth, also a video games fun truck. NHRA NAPA race car driver Ron Capps arrived to sign autographs next to the NAPA racing Tools & Equipment big rig. The group also solicited the participation of the San Diego Blood Bank which accepted donations during the event.
The centerpiece of the Car Care Fair offered free vehicle inspections that can uncover opportunities to improve gas mileage, safety and performance — important topics in an area where the average resident spends 246 hours a year in traffic. When local area residents pulled into Qualcomm Stadium on October 25, they were greeted by the sight of 20 tents where the vehicle inspections will took place. The visual inspections were conducted with NAPA AutoCare Digital Vehicle Inspection, or DVI.
DVI helped save precious time about 10 minutes per vehicle in a standard inspection.) The AutoCare Digital Vehicle Inspection provided event attendees with first-rate printed inspection reports, underscoring the professionalism of San Diego Auto Repair shops.
The group gave away free oil and filter change certificates and free wiper blades certificates to anyone that registered during the event.
The Car Care Fair was the biggest thing on the group’s radar screen for 2015 but it’s not the only business-building activity they’re involved in. San Diego Auto Repair promotes special discounts for the many members of the military in the San Diego area, as well as discounts for fleets and drivers for the Uber car sharing service. San Diego Auto Repair Care also participated in AutoCare Sales Driver consumer savings offers throughout the year of 2015.
